Inaki Pena has been left frustrated at Barcelona after manager Hansi Flick explained his decision to drop the goalkeeper, per a new report.

With Marc-Andre ter Stegen injured, Pena was trusted to take his place as first choice shot stopper and has made 15 La Liga appearances this season. However, he has been dropped for both of Barca's last two fixtures in La Liga after he was allegedly late to a team meeting, and has been replaced by Wojciech Szczesny, who came out of retirement to act as a backup option.

Now, Pena is reported to have sought a private meeting with Flick in which the manager explained that the 25-year-old was unlikely to win his place back, barring a potential injury to Szczesny, per . The meeting is said to have gone so badly that the goalkeeper is now considering his future at the club; he has a contract until 2026.
