da casino: According to Football Insider, Brighton have approached the LMA Manager of the Year Chris Wilder over their vacant managerial position.
He has taken Sheffield United from League One to the Premier League in just three seasons, and it should come as no surprise that other clubs have begun sniffing around the Blades boss.
As a local lad and a lifetime fan of the Yorkshire club, many believe that Wilder won’t be tempted away from Bramall Lane, but there is one thing the Seagulls can offer the 51-year-old that his current team can’t.
Previous issues
The gaffer has often lamented his club’s ownership due to the lack of investment and the fight for power between Kevin McCabe and Prince Abdullah.
The former Northampton manager has previously questioned his future at the club due to issues with the higher-ups saying (as quoted by the Yorkshire Post):
“One hundred per cent I want to stay, but, like anybody else, you’ve always got a decision if you don’t agree with what’s going on above you.
“I’ve had it before when I’ve been at a club and didn’t enjoy it. I stayed when I had a chance to get out. I won’t make that mistake again.”
Brighton the better option
Even with the club’s promotion this season, the problems at Bramall Lane haven’t been alleviated.
The co-owners have been in court for the past few days trying to solve the dispute, but there appears to be no end in sight at the moment.
Until the ownership situation is resolved at the Yorkshire club, Wilder will have no idea what their financial state will be.

The Blades have never been huge spenders, therefore Wilder may be tempted by Brighton who would be able to offer a much more sizeable budget next season. The Seagulls spent £80 million last summer proving that they are willing to back their gaffer.
Even though Brighton’s chairman Tony Bloom made his fortune through gambling, a move to the Amex this summer may well be Wilder’s safest bet.
