da apostebet: Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has stated that he wants to bring in a new striker before the transfer window closes on Wednesday night.
da betway: The Black Cats have been linked with a move for Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner and Wolfsburg’s Patrick Helmes in The Guardian, whilst Tottenham striker Peter Crouch is also believed to be a target.
The Wearside outfit have only scored one goal in four outings in all competitions this term, and the former Manchester United defender has confirmed he feels he may need more firepower.
“We’ve brought in Ji (Dong-Won) and (Connor) Wickham as players for the future. We’ve definitely got two players of potential there but we won’t see the best of either of them for a year to 18 months,” the 50-year-old stated.
“In the meantime we need a bit extra up front. If we’re honest we’ve been a bit lacking in that department since Darren Bent left for Aston Villa last January so we’ll do all we can to bring someone in by Wednesday night. We’ll just have to try our best and see if it’s possible.”
Bendtner has seen his opportunities in the Emirates first team limited of late, and Arsene Wenger may be willing to let the Dane leave, but his wages may be an issue for Sunderland.
Helmes meanwhile has been capped 13 times by Germany, and was signed by Wolfsburg from Bayer Leverkusen in January as the replacement for Edin Dzeko, who moved to Manchester City.
