da poker: Liverpool fans on Twitter want to see Xherdan Shaqiri be given more of a chance to start after the international break.
Some Reds supporters were a bit annoyed following their side’s 0-0 draw Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday, and have suggested that some of the current players might be tired and deserve a rest.
One of those players is Mohamed Salah who has yet to hit the destructive form that he had last season. The Egypt international missed a couple of chances at goal on Sunday in opportunities that he probably would’ve slotted away last season, and the Anfield faithful feel he and some of the other attackers require a rest to be rejuvenated.
A trip to Huddersfield Town awaits Jurgen Klopp’s men next weekend when Premier League action resumes and it could be the best opportunity for the gaffer to hand Shaqiri a start, along with the likes of Daniel Sturrdige.
Liverpool have yet to lose a game in the league so far this season and sit joint top of the table with City and Chelsea, but their ambitions to challenge for the title and possibly the Champions League mean that the season could take its toll on some of their players.
Here are some of their Twitter reactions following Sunday’s match:
Klopp brings in January at least 2 NOT attacking midfielders as he is obsessed with, but 2 strikers that can sub our fab3 when needed and change the game. Tbh, I am very upset he didn’t use Shaqiri yesterday! #LFC Does he have a problem with Shaq???
