According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, AS Roma have identified Ranieri’s replacement in the form of former Atalanta manager Gasperini. The report states that both parties indulged in a meeting this afternoon to complete the agreement and that Gasperini is on the verge of taking charge at Roma.

After a top-notch season with Ranieri, highlighted by a 19-match unbeaten run, Roma are now focused on appointing a new manager. Ranieri’s guidance helped the capital club finish fifth in Serie A, securing qualification for the Europa League. Gasperini, a seasoned coach with nine years and 439 matches at Atalanta, winning 228 of them, is the leading candidate. He notably led Atalanta to a Europa League title in 2023-24, making him a fitting successor to Ranieri, who will now serve as Roma’s sports advisor.
