The Serie A champions are yet to make an impression in the transfer market after their limited movement in the transfer market, having only signed Luca Marianucci from Empoli and Kevin De Bruyne for free after the Belgian was released by Manchester City. However, De Laurentiis has now publicly assured the fans not to worry as the Italian side are going to unveil some major signings in the coming weeks to boost their hopes of winning another Serie A title.

Napoli president's stance on the recent slowdown in transfers might work to uplift the Nerazzurri supporters, but Conte would need to be backed by immediate reinforcements. Otherwise, the two might end up in a similar situation as this year, when Conte wanted to leave the club due to disagreements, primarily regarding the transfer policy. The Italian coach was promised that the squad would be enhanced and given the freedom to sign players of his choice. However, the club's transfer activities suggest otherwise.
WHAT DE LAURENTIIS SAID
When asked about the manager and the slow down in transfers at an event, the Napoli president said: "Conte is brilliant, he's the best coach we could have had. We still have him with us and we'll hold on to him. New signings? Napoli will soon have many new players arriving."

The Italian giants have been reportedly following Darwin Nunez's situation and have also bid around €55 million (£47m/$64m) plus €5m (£4m/$6m) in bonuses, but the Merseyside club are looking for a deal worth €60m (£52m/$70m). The Serie A team are also closing on PSV's Noa Lang after agreeing on a deal worth €28m (£24m/$30m).
Conte's side are set to begin their pre-season on July 17 and the Italian manager will hope that he is provided with more signings by then.
