da dobrowin:
da premier bet: Last Wednesday night, Barcelona scored three goals in the final seven minutes of one of the most remarkable games of football in Champions League history.[ffc_insert title=”Toni Kroos is the ideal Paul Scholes replacement for Man United” name=”Opinion” image_ link=”https://www.footballfancast.com/opinion-2/paul-scholes-is-buttering-up-toni-kroos-and-you-can-see-why” link_text=”Read More” ]The demoralised Paris Saint-Germain faced Lorient on Sunday evening, and if Manchester United were watching, they’ll have been glad to have missed out on one reported transfer target this January.Serge Aurier didn’t start at the Camp Nou against Barcelona, but he was on the pitch for the final 25 minutes plus stoppage time: just enough time to mark Sergi Roberto from a late free kick. And we all know how that went.On Sunday night, however, the actual act of coming off the bench seemed to present a much more difficult task for the PSG right-back. The Ivorian took a full eight minutes to get ready and replace the injured Thomas Meunier, in a stunning display either of unpreparedness or disobedience. The leisurely pace at which he dressed himself on the bench is surely at odds with the pace and directness he’s known for on the pitch.
If United were indeed in interested in the Ivory Coast international, they may have been put off by his incredible Periscope rant about – at the time – teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic and coach Laurent Blanc, or by his arrest for assaulting a policeman in the early hours of the morning – an incident which led to the revocation of his visa by the British Home Office as Aurier was part of a PSG side who came to the Emirates to face Arsenal in the Champions League.
There were already plenty of reasons to feel like United dodged a bullet by avoiding Aurier, but they’ve once again been proved correct.
The Ivorian is certainly talented, but that ability comes with a huge warning, something that doesn’t usually work well at Old Trafford. If you’re a United fan hoping your club signs a right-back, you should probably be looking elsewhere. And surely Jose Mourinho is.
